SOURCE POPULATION: Tiritiri Matangi Island (see other NIR events for information on this island). The first breeding season after release in April 2004 (September to February 2005)showed moderate success. 9 nests were monitoried with 5 being successful. 13 juveniles fledges with 12 of them being banded. 4 pairs and a male who also partnered with one of the paired females established territories and were monitored over all, or part of it.
