PVA for translocated population on Tiritiri Matangi Island. LIFESPAN: Average lifespan 3 years, oldest recorded bird 16yrs. CLUTCHES PER YEAR: where there is lots of food, can lay 2-3 clutches per season. CLUTCH SIZE: usually 2-3. SURROGATE: For the Chatham Island black robin (Petroica traversi) in the 1970s, but is now re-introduced to boost it's own populations.
