Study areas were in Jervis Bay, NSW, Australia. SOURCE SITE: Booderee National Park and NSW Jervis Bay National Park (jointly Bherwerre Peninsula). 51 birds were captured, one of which died of unknown causes in handling. Over 3 years (2003-2005) and between late March and early May, birds were released at one of two release sites at Beecroft Peninsula. Both were in a single area of suitable habitat. (2003 – site 1, 2004 – site 2, 2005 – site 1 and site 2). Birds were immediately released in new area the same day as capture. All bristle birds were banded, measured, had pin feathers collected for DNA analysis and radio transmitter attached before release.
