Wild white-tailed ptarmigan were located in Colorado through the use of tape recorded calls and captured using a telescoping noose pole. The June 1976 releasees were captured in Boulder and Grand Counties, CO and the September 1976 releasees were captures near Mosquito Pass and Cottonwood Pass, CO
