Release Events

This list includes all release events that exist in the database. The list is sorted by Date of the release event. If you want to sort by Site or Species, click on "Site" or "Species". If you want to add a new release event for a species to the existing list, Contact Us.

If you want to limit the list you can select by one or a combination of the variables listed below. The user should be aware that filters can be selected that produce no results found when cases fitting the filter do not exist in the database.

The filter "Monitored by" lists individual techniques (e.g., sight) but the actual monitoring for a release event may have been a combination of techniques (e.g., sight and bird call). In cases of combinations, the user will need to filter the individual techniques in sequence. The filter "Source Population" selects release events where the source of birds for a release has been either a captive or a wild population. The filter for "Developmental Stage" selects release events based on a demographic indicator (i.e., the birds were in the specified stage). The filter "Acclimatization" (if that information is known for a specific release event) indicates an event that was a soft release (birds were given an opportunity to adjust to the change in habitat) or hard release (birds were released into the habitat on arrival). The filter "Breeding Successful" is one of the possible criteria to indicate a successful release event. The filter "% Survived 1 Year" is another possible criteria to indicate a successful release event.
