Birds released 1 or 2 at a time near wild flock. SELECTION CRITERIA: Males are more likely to stay at release site, so more males were chosen. PRE-RELEASE TRAINING: Tried to teach migration route by letting them out to fly at stopping points along the way (idea is for them to recognize landmarks). Also trained to roost near scare eagle & be transported in trucks.
