From 16 September to 7 October 1986, 77 ruffed grouse (42 ad, 35 immature) were released on Sugar Creek State Forest (SCSF) in Adair County, Missouri. Of 77 grouse released, 58 died before 30 April 1987, 10 survived past this date, and radio contact was lost for 9 grouse during the last 80 days of the study.
