CAPTURE DATES: May 3-8. SELECTION CRITERIA: wanted a balanced mix of juveniles & adults, M & F. MARKED WITH: ~20 had transmitters, but battery life is only 2 weeks. MONITORED BY: chance sightings after first 2 wks. 1 YR SURVIVAL: unknowable b/c it has been less than 1 year at time of entry. NOTE: also experimented with 'acoustic anchors" that play bellbird calls for 10 days after release to make them think there are more birds in the area & increase their chances of staying.
