Notes: What's This?
Study done to determine procedures for releasing Whooping cranes into wild using sandhill cranes as surrogates. ACCLIMATIZATION DURATION: Were allowed to leave release pen whenever they were ready. NOTE: Chicks did not migrate with wild flock. Chicks were broken up into smaller groups & relocated to stop them from forming a self guided flock & induce them to follow wild cranes. (Was fairly successful)
