Notes: What's This?
Chicks departed the colony on Motuora Island from November 14 through December 6. This event was the second of 2 transfers in 2008 to Motuora Island. The first blockades were removed the 22nd of November and that is the released date on the ARTD, even if other chicks did not leave until the 6 of December when their blockades were removed and they could fledge. This includes those in the 1st transfer as well. No birds died in transit, but 2 birds died from aspiration pneumonia and kidney failure. Birds do not return to natal side until 2-3 years later for breeding, so monitoring has not yet been released.
