Aug 01, 1995 / Rota Island / Guam rail
The release was in Saguagahga, Rota Island. 17 were equipped with transmitters. -- SOURCES OF MORTALITY INCLUDES AUG & SEPT 1995 RELEASES: 2 of the birds died from cat predation, 5 died from a cliff, 1 from infection, 3 unknowns, 4 dropped their transmitters, and 6 were MIA. It is not known which deaths came from which reintroduction date (August vs. September 1995). Survivorshp data at the release site is incomplete and no population was established. A short-term population did establish, however, 2km away in Field/Edge habitat. Reproduction was documented. Reinforcement was conducted.
