74 rails (15 on August 23, 59 in September but results came as a whole as if all the releases were in September only) were released at Gamp forest, Rota Island, but it was not an optimal habitat. HABITAT ALTERATION: played rail territorial call and minimized predator density of cats and lizards using traps. 25 were equipped with transmitters. 1 died from cat predation, 7 had unknown deaths, and 1 was MIA. At the end of the monitoring period, 16 were still alive. Reporuction was documented, but no long term population was established at the site. Reinforcement was conducted. SURVIVAL 60 DAYS POST RELEASE: 25% of guam rails with transmitters. This is of all the releases in 2000-2001 in Gampapa Limestone Forest.
