Notes: |
A rat eradiacation was planned for Codfish Island in 1998 (eradicated by aerial poison drop of brodifacoum). Since kakapo may eat rat poison, all but one of the 30 kakapo held on the island were moved to a temperary holding island less than 50-km away. In April 1999 the kakapo were returned to Codfish Island.
