21 of the 22 released birds had transmitters. They were released to the Sabana (field/edge habitat) of Rota Island. No population was established. High mortality after 60 days. No reproduction was documented. Post-release monitoring (unknown amount of time) indicated the following: 9 rails MIA, 4 deaths from cars, 2 deaths from predation by feral cats, 2 starvations, 1 poisoning, 4 unknowns. No reinforcement was conducted. SURVIVAL 60 DAYS POST RELEASE: 76% of guam rails with transmitters
